No CE required for RNs/LPNs/APRNs to renew (the 24-hour requirement was REPEALED effective November 18, 2023)

Biennial (every 2 years)
Tracking / Reporting
Nothing to submit for renewal. The Board still offers free CE (e.g., scope of practice, ethics) for nurses who want it.
Renewal Deadline
Licenses run January 1 – December 31 and expire December 31; half of Montana nurses renew in even years and half in odd years. Renew online before the deadline.

- There is NO continuing education requirement to renew a Montana nursing license as of November 18, 2023.
- APRNs maintain national certification and meet competence-development / prescriptive-authority rules (ARM 24.159.1468-1469).
